What advice would you give welders looking to build their careers?
Getting into the trades means keeping yourself open to opportunities and being ready for the adventure of it all. Oftentimes, you may need to journey around to gain different skills and experiences, but that is all part of the fun. Don’t be afraid when one door closes, see it as an opportunity to gain new opportunities.
Is there a specific moment you realized you wanted to weld for a living?
I think everything happens for a reason. I ended up where I was supposed to be when I was supposed to be there. I was open to what my mind and heart were telling me. It was obvious to me immediately that I loved welding in the trade’s sampler course WITT, and as I went to school. Additionally, looking for jobs everything came very organically to me.
What inspires you to keep welding?
Work brings all these new and interesting experiences. I love being able to run various welding procedures in my work, and the travel is always fun. I am passionate about my growth in this career. I am excited to see who I will meet and where I will go. With a career in the trades, life can be quite an adventure if you want it to be.
