  • Length of 2x4 or 2x6 depending on desired size of bowl - 8" length
  • Emery Cloth or Sandpaper - 80 grit and 120 grit
Tool list
  • Ball Peen Hammer

  • Compass
  • Center Punch
  • Leather Gloves
  • Safety Glasses
Procedure
  1. Start with a square piece slightly bigger than the desired circle.
  2. Draw an "x" from corner to corner to find the center of the square
  3. Use the center punch to hammer a small dent at the center of the metal
  4. Use a compass to mark the outline of the bowl.
  5. Use Tin Snips to cut out the shape (Warning! Wear cut resistant leather gloves as edges will be very sharp)
  6. Begin hammering the bowl into shape on the piece of wood. Start the hammering from the center working your way out. Move the metal around to get it to the desired depth of bowl.
  7. Once the desired bowl depth is reached, sand the edges of the metal to soften the sharp edges.
